EPH provides families with the safety and stability of a home. At the same time, EPH case managers provide families with guidance to overcome barriers preventing self-sufficiency. Focus begins with a family's well-being, creating a frame of mind where a family can dare to hope for a better future. This in turn provides meaning for the parent(s) when working on the skills and new behaviors needed for self sufficiency. There is also a focus on children and academic success.

“I cannot fix the homelessness problem in Green Bay, but I can help fix the problem of homelessness for some families and some kids in Green Bay, and this I do.

A fundamental reason for my support for the EPH program is that it is specifically targeted to support families with children, and thereby the children themselves. I have no idea how their growing minds process homelessness, only that I don't want them to have to. The EPH program recognizes that every family situation is unique and requires individually crafted approaches and goals. Progress toward goals and adherence to EPH standards is required for a family's continued participation in the program - - it is not decided by the calendar. This is important to me.”
